 About Us
2007 was a Great year for us, many new friends and retuning
quests. The Inn has added a few New additions to the rooms, we are now
air-conditioned for your comfort, with our changing summers. And for our
winter folks we've added more ski trails. We now have 14k of
Groomed classical trail, we've had an early snowfall ,and skiing has been
Great! We've also added Separate Snowshoe Trails. These are
all marked, and maps are provided. We also have Rental equipment
for xc-skiing and traditional snowshoes. Come join us, and enjoy the
outdoors!
History of The Listening Inn:
Welcome to The Listening Inn Bed-and-Breakfast website. We would like to tell you a little about ourselves and our project.
Carol and her husband (Mark) have been lured to nature's outdoor
adventures for a long time. They moved to Upper Michigan in the 70's
leading a remote life in a scratch built cabin on the banks of the
Paint River. The goal was to be as self-sufficient as possible living
off the land.
More outdoor experiences came when a Carol and her husband (Mark)
accepted a job running a remote "Fly-In" Fishing camp in North-West
Ontario, Canada. Sixteen years later an opportunity to purchase a
unique piece of real estate in the Upper Peninsula grabbed our
attention. What a perfect place to build a log lodge. The lodge Mark
had dreamed of building had to be the best in its class to go along
with the 560 acres of giant pine trees, open meadows, fabulous hardwood
trees, miles of trails with rolling terrain and wonderful Peterson
Creek passing through to the Paint River.
So now after 5 years of hard work this outstanding facility is ready
for you to enjoy. We look forward to you being our guest and enjoying
everything that this 10,000 square foot log bed and breakfast has to
offer. We welcome the opportunity to share with you what we have
learned. Come see what lies North of the "Tension Zone", you won't be
disappointed. In memory of my late Husband (Mark Stokes) We'll
carry on with teaching the outdoor lure, to our quests. And sharing our
home for you to enjoy!
